London PHV Driver Licensing

This section explains what you must do to be granted a London PHV driver's licence and the rules you must follow once you are licensed, covering your badge, medical fitness, telling TfL about changes, convictions, DBS checks and what happens if your licence is suspended or revoked.

What you will learn

  1. 1List every requirement you must meet to be granted a London PHV driver's licence.
  2. 2State how long your licence normally lasts and how quickly you must produce it when a police officer or TfL Authorised Officer asks to see it.
  3. 3Explain when you must wear your PHV driver's badge, how it must be worn, and what to do if it is lost or stolen.
  4. 4Describe the DVLA Group 2 medical requirements, including the extra rules that apply from age 45 and from age 65.
  5. 5Identify the changes in your circumstances you must report to TfL, and how long you have to report a change of home address.
  6. 6Explain what you must do if your licence is revoked, and what an enhanced DBS check shows.
